Voice over Internet Protocol

LAN - local area network A local area network (LAN) is a group of computers and associated devices that share a common communications line or wireless link and typically share the resources of a single processor or server within a small geographic area (for example, within an office building).

packet - A packet is the unit of data that is routed between an origin and a destination on the Internet or any other packet-switched network.

VoIP (voice over IP - that is, voice delivered using the Internet Protocol) is a term used in IP telephony for a set of facilities for managing the delivery of voice information using the Internet Protocol (IP).

PBX - A Private Branch Exchange is a very small, specialized switch similar to a CO switch.
