Digital wedding photography
Digital photography is a great tool for the wedding industry and has helped many individuals who have always wanted to start a photography business to jump in quickly. One of the largest hurdles has always been digital workflow.
How do you get the images from the camera to a print in a fast and efficient manner? One item that caused a problem when working with 2 cameras at an event was to sync the images together in a seamless fashion. Imagine what a hassle it would be to have a bride and groom walking down the isle with multiple shots taken from 2 angles, 2 cameras and then have the images line up together in your filing system. How would you sort them? Name sorting will not work and most likely sorting by time taken would not sync the image files in chronological order either because they were removed from 2 separate cameras.
This is where the simple digital photography workflow comes in handy. Just prior to heading out for your next gig, take the 2 cameras and set the clocks to the exact time. There will be no way to get the exact second for each camera but you can simplify your workflow to be within or under a 1-minute difference. Once the images have been downloaded from the cameras into a single file folder, sort by date and your images will be in chronological order. Your last step would be to renumber your images to ensure that the images remain in this order.
