Lessons In Selling From A Virtual Wedding Photography Location

Lessons In Selling From A Virtual Location

Selling virtually is completely different than selling from a storefront. Without a commercial location, and with your client hundreds of miles away, how are you going to sell?

A home-based Wedding Photography business typically acts the same as a studio with a commercial location. They have clients come to their home, market to the people within a 10-mile radius of their home and create connections with the businesses in their community.

A virtual Wedding Photography business understands that the world is their studio, and they have seven continents in which to build their database. They go to their clients, market to people anywhere in the world, and create connections with businesses that can become effective strategic partners.

A home-based business attempts to do everything in house. Control is usually left to the discretion of the owner.

A virtual Wedding Photography business uses technology to their advantage. Automation is the key to business survival – and success.

A home-based business networks with people in their community.

A virtual business networks with people online, and ultimately leads to connections around the world.

A home-based business becomes a generalist, taking in work to pay the bills.

A virtual business becomes a specialist, creating working environments that meet the passion and drive of the owner.

A home-based business survives.

A virtual business thrives.

Test your Photography Marketing Materials

Test your Photography Marketing Materials
What products or services can you easily add to your business this year? Sit down and brainstorm every way in which you could add something new. Write down every idea, whether it's doable or not. This is the time to brainstorm, not make decisions.

Next, categorize each idea by its do-ability! How easy would it be for you to get this idea to the marketplace? Take your most doable idea, and get it out to your clients - now! Just do it! In order to sell it, you have to get it out there. Do one idea at a time so you're not bombarded with business that you can't handle. Set up your other doable ideas on a timetable, so you are sure to release those as well in the near future.

Finally, put these ideas into action. Make them available for sale. Market them. Create ways of notifying your client of your new products/services. Then ask your client for their opinion. Is this a good idea? How can you change it to make it more desirable? Can you combine it with other things in your business to make a "package"? Change some of the features, and test it again. Change. Test. Change. Test.
