Texas Hold em Strategy Positions

In middle position- as discussed you can lower your standards here since you have a little more information. You can play all hands from A-10 and above (this includes suited connectors from 67s on up) if you are the first to act. You can call with 99's, 88's, 77's and even lower. But these pairs should be folded if the pot is raised from behind, unless there are a lot of callers for one extra bet.

In late position- you can call with most suited connectors and small pairs all the way down to 22's. If the pot has not been raised in front of you, you may be tempted to raise, regardless of your hand. This is called a position raise. It can be an important part of your success over the course of a Texas Hold’em poker tournament, but it's something that should be used selectively, unless you really have a hand. Here is a quick overview of a fun and exciting game of poker:

1. The betting structure can vary, but most games start with two players placing out a predetermined amount of money so there is an initial amount to play for. This is called posting the blinds. These players are the two to the left of the dealer. These blinds are called the small and big. The large blind is generally one half of the big blind.

2. A deck of 52 cards is used for Texas Hold'em with a minimum of 2 players with the maximum player count of 11.

3. Each player is dealt two cards face down. These are called your hole or pocket cards. odds chart

4. The first round of betting starts with the player left of the posted the blinds. This betting round is usually referred to by the term pre-flop.

5. The amount betted depends on what kind of game it is.

6. Much like most games of poker, players can check, raise, or fold.

7. After the betting round ends, the dealer discards the top card of the deck. This is called a burn card. This is done to prevent cheating.

8. The dealer then flips the next three cards face up on the table. These cards are called the flop. These are communal cards that anyone can use in combination with their two pocket cards to form a poker hand (best of 5).

9. There is another round of betting starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

10. After the betting concludes, the dealer burns another card and flips one more onto the table. This is called the turn card. Players can use this sixth card now to form a five card poker hand.

11. The player to the left of the dealer begins another round of betting. Most games will double the blind amount for the minimum bet.

12. Finally, the dealer burns a card and places a final card face up on the table. This is called the river. Players can now use any of the five cards on the table or the two cards in their pocket to form a five card poker hand.

13. There is one final round of betting starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

14. After that, all of the players remaining in the game begin to reveal their hands. This begins with the player to the left of the last player to call. It's called the showdown.

15. The player who shows the best hand wins! There are cases where players with equal hands share the winnings.

It's difficult to learn to play Texas Hold'em in the traditional setting of a casino's poker room without losing to experienced gamblers. Thankfully, you can practice all you want for free with online poker rooms.

After just visiting the Florida area and getting the chance to take a cruise with Gary and Marci Fong while learning a boat load about wedding albums we made a visit to Disney World. What a great way to pump up your customer awareness!!!

Walt was a great man in all of his visions and it is still carried though to the current day. We were amazed at how clean, well run all of the areas were that we had a chance to visit and how polite all of the employees were.

We had the wonderful opportunity to visit the new Animal Kingdom and let me tell you these guys go all out. The park is not scheduled to open until April but we were invited to a sneak preview. While visiting the Animal Kingdom I watch a child receive an ice cream cone. After just seconds the child dropped the cone on the ground. The clerk at the counter gave him another cone and the boy was happy. The dropped ice cream lay on the ground for others to track and scatter, a potential mess!! Never fear, this is Disney!! Disney Factor The messy ice cream was removed and cleaned up in 15 seconds before it had a chance to scatter.......You may wonder what this post has to do with Wedding Photography.......Well, customer service.....I call it the Disney Factor.....Always keep your customer happy by correcting the problem immediately ( replacing the dropped ice cream ) and seeing a problem that needs to be corrected is, before it scatters ( ice cream is cleaned up quickly).

I found the same thing over and over again at all the parks and places we stayed at on Disney property. This is a potential helper for any company that wants to change it image for the better. The last day that we had a message on our telephone thanking us for staying with Disney. WOW now that’s customer service.

My whole point is that we as photographers need to be aware of our customers desires and problems before they fester out of control. Disney Factor Always creating a clean and pleasing look, personal or business is vital for success.

Yes the code is useless from most points but it does tell the viewer that you care about your images and are protecting them. Photographers always talk about the print screen but forget about the special tool in most browsers, the “save” feature. If you see a web site with a page that you like, simply save the web page and every file will now be stored on your hard drive. One item that will be missing is if they have any special code or scripts and database information. Locking the door on your car is but a small hitch for a thief to violate your rights and break the window to remove a personal item. Nothing is protected in this world but small deterrent helps.

I had a treat last year covering an Indian wedding. Red was used throughout the event and was beautifully decorated. There are two of my favorite images, one of the bride attaching all of her decorative jewels and another of her maid of honor holding hands. The hands are filled with henna markings, which are very important and extremely interesting. I hope you enjoy them.

When an image is created in the camera body it is saved to your memory card for later retrieval. In the JPEG format, the image was processed and written into that file format, where as RAW format is an unprocessed proprietary image file from the camera. The camera body “processed the image” and must be very close to a perfect image. RAW format is great if you need to go back and correct anything major. If you under exposed the image or the camera was set to the wrong color balance you would have a way of changing the image.

Some cameras allow recording a RAW and a JPEG and the same time. You can use the JPEG to edit and if there are any exposure issue the RAW is present and able to get you out of a jam.

You may know that Texas Holdem tips have already helped over thousand gamblers to win the pot.

Lets take a short game overview. So, hold'em game is one of popular poker games. During the game each player is dealt with two cards face-down and three cards (community cards) are dealt in the center of the table. Then one card is dealt each betting round, so you have to collect your hand from two hole cards (pocket cards) and five community cards. The strongest hand wins the pot.

So, the player's aim is to collect the strongest five-card hand to win all other hands for pot. Both pocket (hole) cards are usually used to complete the hand, but it is not necessary to use any pocket cards at all. Using no pocket cards is commonly called as "to play the board". In case if somebody has the same hand as you have at the showdown - you split the pot.

Ok, now you are ready to start betting like a crazy, willing to win that great pot. Stop and think! Are you really ready to play for real? Have you any idea about what the pre-flop strategy is? Consider all factors before getting involved in the game. Specially for reason of educating novice gamblers we have developed this easy Texas Holdem tips list. They are not all, but quite sufficient for a successful game. So, one of the major factors in beginning a successful game is to choose the right table. Count the number of players, notice whether players are aggressive, passive or they have just came to make fun. Besides you must consider your position, bankroll and the level of risk you are ready to entail. For instance, if there will be ten or more players in the game, it is more likely that somebody among them will have the stronger hand than you have and the game will be short. The only advantage of such game is high pot. Besides, large games are increasing the possibility of someone's pre-flop hand fitting the flop will be rather better than your.

Aggressive players may force you to play tighter by rising at each pre-flop!

Bottom Pair When a player uses the lowest card on the flop to make a pair with one of his own cards.
Broadway An Ace high straight (A-K-Q-J-10).
Bring-In The forced bet made on the first round of betting by the player who is dealt the lowest card showing in Seven Card Stud and Stud 8 or Better. In Razz (Lowball) it is the highest card showing.
Bring It In To start the betting on the first round.
Broomcorn's Uncle A player who antes himself broke.
Bullets A pair of Aces.
Bump To raise.
Button Also known as the dealer button, it is a small round disk that is moved from player to player in a clockwise direction following each hand, to theoretically indicate the dealer of each hand.

Early position, in Texas Hold’em, is the 3 players to the left of the big blind, late position are the 2 players to the right of the blinds. By deduction, that makes everyone in between in middle position. Why you ask do you have to play the same hand differently from different positions? The answer is logical and probably won't surprise you. Texas Hold’em is all about information. The more information you have about how everyone else is going to play the hand, the easier it is for you to make a more informed decision about how you are going to play yours.

Logically, in Texas Hold’em poker, in early position, since you are one of the first to act, you have to be much more selective about your starting hands since you don't know what the players behind you are going to do. The last thing you want to do is call the big blind, someone behind you puts in a nice raise, and you are forced to fold that hand, wasting your money. In late position, since you are one of the last players to act you have had the luxury of watching what most of the other players are going to do, making your decision an easier one. In Texas Hold’em poker, you might decide to call a bet from this position because there is less likelihood you are going to be raised with only 2 or 3 players to act behind you. Rake Take">Texas holdem poker is a game where players wager money against one another instead of other casino games where people play versus the house. The casino/card room is there to make money so they have to charge something for poker games and this is where the rake comes in. A rake is a portion of chips taken out of each pot that the casino keeps. An example of a rake would be 3 dollars taken out of every pot plus 1 dollar for the jackpot (which builds until someone wins it).

You can exploit tight players through tactics such as blind stealing and through buying free cards. Blind stealing is simply betting when only blinds are left in the game pre-flop. You can raise from the small blind position or from the position just before the small blind (usually the dealer's position) to try and steal the cost of the two blinds. Texas Holdem Position In middle position

In middle position- as discussed you can lower your standards here since you have a little more information. You can play all hands from A-10 and above (this includes suited connectors from 67s on up) if you are the first to act. You can call with 99's, 88's, 77's and even lower. But these pairs should be folded if the pot is raised from behind, unless there are a lot of callers for one extra bet.

In late position- you can call with most suited connectors and small pairs all the way down to 22's. If the pot has not been raised in front of you, you may be tempted to raise, regardless of your hand. This is called a position raise. It can be an important part of your success over the course of a Texas Hold’em poker tournament, but it's something that should be used selectively, unless you really have a hand. Remember if everyone in front of you has folded there is a far greater chance that someone behind you has woken up with a hand. Before trying to bully the blinds keep this in mind...

Early position, in Texas Hold’em, is the 3 players to the left of the big blind, late position are the 2 players to the right of the blinds. By deduction, that makes everyone in between in middle position. Why you ask do you have to play the same hand differently from different positions? The answer is logical and probably won't surprise you. Texas Hold’em is all about information. The more information you have about how everyone else is going to play the hand, the easier it is for you to make a more informed decision about how you are going to play yours.

Logically, in Texas Hold’em poker, in early position, since you are one of the first to act, you have to be much more selective about your starting hands since you don't know what the players behind you are going to do. The last thing you want to do is call the big blind, someone behind you puts in a nice raise, and you are forced to fold that hand, wasting your money. In late position, since you are one of the last players to act you have had the luxury of watching what most of the other players are going to do, making your decision an easier one. In Texas Hold’em poker, you might decide to call a bet from this position because there is less likelihood you are going to be raised with only 2 or 3 players to act behind you. For this reason, the cards you play in early position are usually of much higher rank and quality than those you might play from around back.

Let us talk about the good thing first. The best thing about digital photography is that you have the capacity to play back your images any day and anytime you want to. Now the bad thing. With digital photos, you have to wait to get back to your desk to make copies of the pictures. This was before exciting new products came into existence.

Making high quality, full color prints when you are thousand miles away from your desk is not anymore a myth. The requirements? Camera, computer and printer. There are now available portable and compact units that can function with the use of car and battery power and mains that are also suited anywhere in the world. Easy carriage printers have been developed already to bring with you wherever you go. Making you very capable of creating prints whenever you see something that strikes inspiration for a photo. This is like printing to the extreme. You can make instant cards while in a scenic place and sending it immediately to others whom you want to turn green with envy.

In taking along your portable printers, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Pack your printers properly. Some printers needed to have internal parts locked to avoid damaging the motors and some parts that may be sensitive to motion and impact. It is always best to have it put in a carry bag that can ensure its safety and to avoid the appearance of dirt and dust that can spoil the prints. A must is not to forget the power source cables, connectors and batteries needed to make them work.

Printers should be put in a flat and level surface while printing. This can avoid unnecessary movements while you are going about printing. The finished prints that needed to be dried should be placed in a sheltered area to avoid dust causing damage to them.

Wireless connections will work its best when its devices are closest together. Too much light, especially sunlight, will definitely interfere with some ports that you may be using. Other devices also can hinder links or cause some disruptions.

Portable printers are not desktop printers. This should be the perfect excuse for these printers not to print faster than you expect it to be. Anticipate having to wait a while before the print will be printed.

The last thing you need is patience. Lots of patience if you want to have the perfect quality photos.

A website should firstly be searched out by visitors before talking about attracting or retaining those visitors. Nowadays, a “well designed website” does not only relate to a web site’s visual attractiveness but more importantly, how friendly it is with search engines.

Below are 10 SEO friendly website designing tips where web designers should pay attention to during the early stage of their web designing process.

1. Avoid creating menu on the left-hand side of a website. If unavoidable, an alternative way is to put some text with rich keywords at the top or above the left-hand menu so that this text will be the first thing to be read by search engines.

2. Headlines are rated more important than the rest of the web page by search engines. To take advantage of this, you should have your keywords in the page headline. Since the header tag (h1) is quite large, you should format it to make it smaller.

3. Every page should contain the “title” and “description” tags with good keywords to describe the page content. The number of words for the title should not exceed 9 and that for the description should not be more than 20 words in order to keep within the limits of most search engines.

4. Try not to use Flash when possible. Flash cannot be read by the search engines to date and will cause slow page loading time and make people run away. If you really have a reason to use flash, try to make it smaller (e.g. as a flash header) and leave other area of your website for keyword-rich content.

5. Think twice on how to use graphics. Make them relevant to your content and use an alt tag with relevant keywords for search engines to read as they cannot read graphics and also for your visitors so that they can have something to read when waiting for the graphics to load.

6. Do not only use images to link out. You should always use text links to link out to important content on your web site. Spiders can follow image links, but like text links more though.

7. Avoid using frames. Some search engines cannot spider web pages with frames at all. For the other search engines that can, they can have problems spidering it and sometimes they too cannot index the web page.

8. Avoid using too complex tables when laying out your page but to keep them simple for the spiders. There are some engines which find it difficult to navigate through to the other pages on your website if the navigation bar is too complicated.

9. Use external Cascading Style Sheets and Java Script files to reduce page size and make the download time much faster. It will allow the spider to index your web page faster and can help your ranking.

10. Use standard HTML. Software such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver or a WYSIWYG editor will often add unnecessary scripting codes that will make the page larger than is needed and make it harder to crawl. It will sometimes add codes that cannot be read by search engines, causing the spider not to index the page or even the whole website. If to use, you should use those web page creator software wisely with a good understanding of html so that you may manually avoid or even delete those unnecessary scripting codes.

Until recently, software giant, Microsoft's Internet Explorer Web browser enjoyed a relatively unchallenged position as the most popular Web browser in the world.

Despite lawsuits and charges of unfair competition from the likes of Netscape and others, Microsoft dominates browser software with over 90% market share.

Microsoft's dominance of the browser market stems mainly from the simple fact that the majority of computers get delivered with Microsoft Windows as the default operating system.

Internet Explorer (IE) comes standard with all Windows software and, thus, virtually everyone automatically gets the IE browser.

By default, Microsoft owns the browser market because they catch consumers early, get them conditioned to using the IE software, and, until recently, no other software offered a compelling enough reason to switch.

However, with a seemingly endless rash of security problems, consumers started looking elsewhere for alternative Web browser options.

This consumer demand may well spell the end of Microsoft's dominance in the browser marketplace.

In response to severe security vulnerabilities, several alternative Web browsers recently gained significant market share.

Opera.com

One of the original "alternative" browsers, "Opera" offers a significant number of interesting tweaks over Internet Explorer, including the ability to open more than one html page within the browser, as opposed to one page per window with IE.

The free version of Opera carries advertising messages, but for $39 you can turn off the advertising and unlock additional features.

Mozilla.com

Mozilla actually offers two choices for alternative Web browsing. Mozilla 1.7, the current version of the original Mozilla software, includes an email program, newsgroup reader, and even a chat feature.

Mozilla also offers a newer browser called "Firefox" that has many people raving about enhanced features. Both browsers come free of charge and do not appear to carry any third party advertising.

Netscape.com

Netscape, one of the original Web browsers, still offers its browser software free, though you must do some searching on their site to find it.

Scroll to the bottom and click "Download Latest Netscape Browser."

Based on their site, Netscape seems to be in the middle of an identity crisis since they look more like Yahoo! than a software provider.

An 800 lb. Gorilla on the horizon?

Online search engine powerhouse, Google, has never shied away from taking on Microsoft.

In fact, they've done something Microsoft couldn't do, namely turn a profit with a search engine.

Based on past behavior, how long do you think it will take Google to release a Web browser of their own?

Despite statements to the contrary, I believe Google willcome out with their own Web browser within the next 18 months.

Look at their Hotmail.com alternative, Gmail, at http://gmail.Google.com.

Google gave away so much storage space they forced Hotmail to make major concessions in their free service.

Google Desktop blows away the Microsoft search utility for your PC.

Don't for a second think Google doesn't have a browser in development and a strategy to release it (for free) if they can cut Microsoft off at the knees.

It seems like technology is headed for a massive telephone change over. The traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) is looking to be replaced by VoIP. VoIP is short for Voice over IP. VoIP is the routing of conversations over an IP network or the Internet. VoIP uses a packet-switched network instead of the circuit-switched voice transmission lines used by traditional telephone networks. VoIP does not need an Internet connection to work. A company that has a LAN connection with all of its computers can utilize VoIP technology.
VoIP is a great technology, but has a variety of issues with implementation. VoIP may face problems with latency because IPs do not provide Quality of Service guarantees, nor do they provide their packets of information in sequential order. High-speed Internet connections are required for VoIP and firewalls often prove tricky for VoIP technology. To combat this, many people use Session Border Controllers (SBC).
VoIP technology has many advantages. There are more new features with VoIP because of the lack of an International Telecommunications Union. VoIP is still very much an open market for developers, so the technology is constantly being improved. VoIP also has a lower cost than traditional sources because of the monopolies that exist or traditional phone companies being controlled by the government. Some users even see VoIP phone calls as free because they do not have to pay extra for the service. The user only pays the Internet service provider, and therefore the usage of VoIP seems to be free. You can also take your VoIP phone wherever you go because all you need is a network connection to make it work. VoIP technology will also benefit network agents who work for call centers. Agents can help callers from anywhere in the country with an Internet connection. Finally, because VoIP is on the computer, there is increased functionality. Conference calls can be held, information can be sent, and things like address books can be updated and shared over VoIP.
While VoIP has many advantages, there are a few drawbacks to the service. One of the biggest drawbacks is reliability. Telephone lines have back up generators in case of power outages, so phones can keep working. Because VoIP is connected to the Internet, a power outage will end a VoIP call when the computer shuts down. To combat this, users must buy an expensive uninterruptible power supply or a generator that must then be installed on the premises. Internet connections are also subject to disconnection, depending on crowded networks, and the quality of the ISP. If the Internet connection drops, then the VoIP call will be dropped. VoIP is also a problem for emergency calls. Because of the nature of the Internet and VoIP systems, emergency workers cannot trace calls. In the event that someone with an emergency has a problem but is unable to give an address, the emergency worker will not be able to trace the call and find the person. VoIP carriers are already attempting to fix this problem by implementing a technical work-around. Finally, it will be very difficult to integrate VoIP on a massive scale, because while the standard Plain Old Telephone System (POTS) has a common standard, VoIP does not.
VoIP has many advantages as well as some large drawbacks. The main roadblock in the way of global VoIP adoption is reliability. When VoIP proves that it can be just as reliable as traditional telephone services have been over many years, then it will start to be adopted. VoIP technology is always improving, so the problems with VoIP today are likely to be solved sooner than many people expect. VoIP can truly revolutionize both the business world and home life.

I was reading an excellent article today titled "Identity Theft" by Judith Collins at eWeek.com, when it got me to thinking.... I'm in the Anti-Spyware business, and I'm doing a lot of advertising to promote my website, but here I am online and on the phone, giving my personal information to.....who? Strangers basically, Geez!.

The majority of identity thefts occur thru contractors employing people in entry-level jobs that have not been properly screened. Not even Hackers,Phishers or Dumpster Divers account for as many! The ideal location for a Identity stealer would be in a out sourced agency that fails to use adequate screening processes.

I've read many articles lately that state we need stricter guidelines and procedures to insure we have proper security as consumers. A set of universal rules that would be adhered to by all. To even think of the enormous complexity of this project staggers the mind!

So here I am, I want to take a advertisement out at a prestigious magazine that is published in a traditional print paper and online. I may have to deal with people online and on the phone.I give my name, address, phone number, and my credit card number! EGAD, what am I doing?

Then my common sense and education about matters such as these kicks in and I rationalize that these companies would not be in business if they couldn't keep their customers happy. But,accidents happen. So you see my dilemma. I know computer security and Spyware, and the vulnerabilities and strengths when dealing online. Its just a little new to me to trust, when I know the ramifications to me personally if my Identity were to be used for ill-gotten gain.

I know after all these years of being a, OK I admit it, a slightly paranoid online user, that I need to make myself a little vulnerable so I can better succeed in my online business. I've been where the people who contact me asking for help are; a place in their minds of anger, frustration and helplessness.

But then as I said earlier, common sense and education about Spyware wins over and I take a deep breath and go on.
